Almost much ready for paint and would like to know if anyone has suggestions for a bed liner that will work. Can't find any vendors who list one for a 72.
Any of you guys (or gals) know of a later model one that can be made to fit well? I'm hoping that I'll be able to heat up the left front corner of a liner and "reform" it to go over the aux. gas tank filler that passes through the bed.
Thanks for the input. I'm aware of the potential issues with liners and will add bed drains and keep it garaged to avoid rust. I never was a fan of spray in liners. The best option in my opinion is a liner and a heavy rubber mat. The mat keeps things from sliding till you want to have a slick surface then you can pull the mat. It gives you the best of both and is easy to keep clean.
Does anybody know of a liner that can be trimmed to fit a 72?
i saw a liner in a 67 - 72 at a junk yard that fit pretty well. It was too beat up to use and had no identification on it. So, at least we know there is one that will work. Now all we need to know is which one......
Well maybe do kind of a hybrid, spray the sides of the bed with a coating and get a rubber mat for the floor. I imagine that finding a rubber mat may not be too tough.
By the way BlueovalFE, nice truck, any build thread to check out pics. Later.
Bruce Horkey's and I believe Mar-K makes bed wood kits like the flaresides that you can install over the metal floor, or you can get some birch or oak plywood and make your own liner.
I have had a bed mat for years, I think it's great, things don't slide around. I have heard some of the do it yourself roll in liners start having issues in a few years, but the drop in are a piece o sheet. My 2.
