1989 ECU removal
Yeah, the entire board seems to be covered in some type of clear rubber waterproofing. That's probably a good thing in the long run. (although I suspect I may need to replace my computer anyway...can't get rid of code 34) Wonder if that waterproofing is soluble in acetone or reducer.
Curious to hear how that thing runs...once you wash your windows. haha
So it is completely covered in dust.
I had to clean the windows twice to get everything of.

But I've noticed a little power gain.
It's not that much, but I'm happy with it.
On the other hand I'll try to set the ignition a bit more ahead of 10°

The Wax or Grease on the port I tried to remove with spiritus.
It wasn't really loosened, but you can almost pull it off.
The clear coat went off with some fine Sandpaper.
Just see when the color turns from grey to copper
The only thing that botheres me is still my AOD.
Checked the fluid level - fits
Drove a few miles, checked the fluid level - 1qt missing
Filled it up and drove again
It still didn't shift into Overdrive, until I gave full throttle up to 75-80mph
After that it shifts fine.
Sometimes OD-Shifts already at 35mph - just as I wanted
I love to cruise around in low RPMs
But after that I need to give it almost a full throttle to drive reverse.
Well, not to drive - but to engage the clutch.

After the van was back in place I checked the fluid level a third time - It seems that there are 2 qts to much
Is your throttle valve cable to the transmission adjusted correctly? You might look into that.
Glad to hear the eprom upgrade got you a few extra ponies.
At this point, I'd be ecstatic to have the factory installed amount of horsepower. I replaced one bad injector today, but by the way it drives, I think I'm giond to have to take a closer look at the passenger side bank. Not an easy task....
no wonder its not working properly.
