need to replace ecm on '91 e-350 300 ci van. found it on passenger side firewall and removed 10mm bolt holding 60-pin connector to it under the hood. where do i go from here?
Passenger side footwell. It's inside under the A/C plenum.
I can see the ecm through a housing in the passenger footwell and have the 60-pin connector off from under the hood, but how do i remove? From under the hood or in well? Where are the bolts to remove?
remove the interior kick panel, that should yield better results, just out of curiosity why are you changin it? They don't really go bad unless there is something else that is causing a voltage surge.
Had to Ford dealer 3 times. Sometimes shuts down when operating temp. is reached...will start back up if left to cool down. Never does this when dealer uses it for days. I tried 2 new ignition modules, replaced entire distributor (cause dealer said 2nd most cause of this is a bad stator), new coil, etc. Think only things left to replace is ecm and sensors. After $1,000 think I have to try this before giving up.
