sorry for the late post. i've been having some trouble. weird thing. i've done this about a couple of times and it's worked easy for me so far.
however, this time around, i'm stuck. dammit. this thing is pissing me off. i'm trying to get the external tranny filter housing off with my impact wrench. impact wrench is fully charged. it's worked before.
now i'm hitting it for about 10 to 15 seconds and it's not even budging. i even have an impact socket.
i just sprayed the top edges with WD40. gonna sit for about 10 minutes and try again.
in the mean time, any suggestions? i'm open to any and all suggestions.
U guys are funny. Lol. I'm sure tats the general direction. Anyway, I might be leaning towards getting a new assembly and just replace it. Will the kit come with a filter too? Part number is 7B155A. Also, I found another complete kit which comes when u buy a reman tranny from ford. Tat part number is 7B155D (FT-165). Any opinions on tat? Is this better than stock?
Btw, my complete stock kit is quoted to me at 76 bucks and some change after tax. I get contract pricing.
Snuggy, as you know that mount bracket is kinda flimsy, you could try a motorcycle tie down strap to firm it up. That would make the impact more effective.
Sorry rusty, I forgot to mention, she wasn't budging at all. I'm about to take my shotgun to her. Jus saying. I'm wondering if the different kit would be easier to change out filter?
Yep the 12Ga hammer will open it up that is for sure.
The hard part after that is how do you close it.
And with the red stuff leaking out the cops will
be looking for a body and you may be talking
to a guy named Buba in the time it takes to
find there is no a a body.
Half inch impact wrench cordless from harbor freight. Works good. I've done 2 tranny fluid changes with no probs. now, she won't even budge. I'm contemplating changing out the housing assembly. Kind folks, any particular procedure I have to follow?
