I'm looking for some advice for a friend of mine. he's got a 6.4 liter he's looking to mod and since I'm more knowledgeable in the 7.3 liter area I figured I'd give you guys a shout.
here is what he is being quoted if you could let me know what you think about the pricing and mods I'm sure he'd really appreciate it. one of my main concerns was the 4 inch exhaust. don't the 6.4 liters come stock with 4 inch and if so what would be the benefit of putting on aftermarket. also the intake and tuner prices seem high but this is coming from a guy who built his own intake. I do have custom tunes though And they didn't cost nearly that much.
By the way his name is Sam and I'm going to have him make an account so he can add to this and you guys can school him up.
Factory exhaust is 3.5". Plus there are a few kinks and restrictions through the factory down pipe and exhaust. There is a bend in particular that restricts air flow by about 25%.
If he's going to delete the EGR's he definitely wants the new intake elbow. But the upgraded elbows aren't cast. Their mandrel bent I believe.
Tuner: is it a Street tuner or Race tuner? Most of the Race tuners were sold when the EPA stepped in not allowing H&S to sell DPF Delete tuners any longer.
Can't tell you anything on prices. Too small and blurry.
