Hey guys, here is my new intake mod. I just picked up the Predator Airforce Cold Air Induction Maximizer. www.predatorpower.com. I got it because I'm currently looking for any little thing that will lower my egt's. My Diablo Predator just skyrockets them. After taking this thing out of the box, I thought that this thing might actually work and make a difference. If you've ever taken a look at the intake tube that goes to the grille you'll notice that it is just blocked by a plastic "wall". How does that plastic wall allow cold air to come through? This is the plastic wall that I'm talking about:
Installation was really easy. It only took about 20 minutes. All you have to do is take off the grille, trace the template, cut out the template, file down the cut, and then put in the screws. The most time consuming part was filing down the hole. This thing should let in a lot more and colder air towards the filter.
Here's a picture of the inlet tube with the CAI Maximizer in...See the difference?
A picture of the finished product.
Predator claims up to 1 mile per gallon gain, up to 100 additional cubic feet of air per seconds at 60 mph, and up to 80 degrees lower egts. I'll have to test it out but I think that it definitely puts some more air up there.
Whoa, it costs $43 at jegs. I emailed them and was asking them about it and they just said they'd send me one for free... I had no idea it costed that much. I think it's great and all but maybe they need to lower the price.
Yeah, I heard someone on here talking about the "Air Fury" (which I guess is the same thing) and they said that they got it free with their Diablo Predator. So I just emailed them and was asking questions about it and they said they'd send it on over..nice people
Toyota Hauler, I didn't buy anything but I sure will be sure to buy some other stuff from Predator in the future..!
That's a clean, good looking install, but I don't think it qualifies as a new mod. I cut a hole through my radiator support on Feb. 11, 01. The day after I bought the truck. Kudo's for reviving the old school mod.
Yeah, don't get me wrong..I'm not trying to take credit for anything I was just wanting to show people this new product from Predator. I know the Zoodad mod had been around for awhile and I was looking for a cleaner setup..I guess my thread should have been re-worded
