How do you kill the door chime: engine running
I use a work 08 5.4 extended cab f150 for a lot of low speed hop out hop back in with the engine running.
I have already disabled the seat belt reminder (bliss!!) and now want to disable the even LOUDER and MORE ANNOYING door chime when you open the door that blows your ear drums out. It's got to go!
After searching a bunch, it seems most people do the tape mod on the key drum, or clip the wire, but it's not clear this would work for the engine left running since most people just do this so they can put the key in before the door is shut.
So what's the culprit? The door mounted switch? I want the headlight reminder to still work, so I don't want to remove the actual chime.
Thanks!
