I was wondering what was different between the two. Thanks for the quick response.
The mount at the top is different for the rear shocks. In your other thread I thought you were talking about the fronts, that's why I linked you to my post. Using the Bilsteins, you won't need longer ones for the rear, but I dunno if that applies to the Rancho's too.

PS - Two threads, same question. Gonna merge the two threads together.

so when ordering new shocks we would order stock excursion size shocks and not lifted shocks. That is more my concern that the truck is sitting about 2" higher now.

As I posted earlier, with Bilsteins that would be correct. For anything else, I dunno.
Have you thought about contacting Rancho?
When I wanted to know about the Bilsteins, that's what I did. I called the manufacturer.

No, just reg 4wd ex shocks will work. With v/b springs, u r sitting at a f250 height. 4wd ex and 4wd f250 use the same from Rancho shock. The rears r different due to the top mount. But if u look at what I posted above in my conversation with the Rancho rep, the ones for the 4wd ex r a hair longer anyway.
Got it! Thanks I must say without this site I would be at the mercy of mechanics and as much as I trust the ones Ive been using lately the information from this site is priceless!!
