Well I bite the bullit and went to Sears and bought new shocks....
They reccomended the Rancho 5000's for the front and rear, so I agreed.
When doing the work they realize that the rear set is too short and call the local parts store which reccomends the Monroe Reflex series for the rear! and, I must say I love the Monroe REFLEX's!!! now the bad news.... I thought the 5000 Rancho's would be GREAT seeing that their advertised for all 4X4's everywhere!!!
BUT in my honest and tested for 3 days opinion... THE RANCHO 5000'S SUCK! My trucks front end rides worse than a low-rider without shocks riding on the bump-stops!!!!! I'll be going back and gladly paying the difference to have them taken off as soon as I get paid (and time permits). If anyone has any idea what else I'm missing here please let me know ASAP. I do plan on getting a set of F-250 front springs in the very near future, but I really do not believe thats gonna make me any happier with the Rancho's.
I have the Monroe reflex shocks as well. Installed them in 01. Absolutely love them. Dont know to much about the Rancho shocks, but unless you are climbing a mountain, I dont spend that much for shocks.
I have the Monroe Senser shocks and I like them allot Down here on these rough rodes you cant do much better.
I had a frind come down in his new truck with new Bilstines on it and he went 50 miles down one rough rode and melted 2 of the shocks. My Monroes got prety warm but they did fine.
I hate most all "HD truck shocks " rancho ,skyjacker etc. The ride sucks and at 500 plus miles a week ride is it.I used to always lift my trucks and have had most lifts and shocks . I do haul and have loads on truck weekly I now use Sears road hander lt shocks and like them , and they have lifetime warrenty. and cost alot less if on sale. And ride better than stock
i just bought the monroe sensa-trac for the rear on my truck and they seem to work really good. i'm with thomadm, i just don't see myself paying $70 for a single shock. i think i paid $30 or $35 for the sensa-tracs. and i believe i got a lifetime warranty with them.
