How to post new thread/question

Forgive me for hijacking this thread. It is the only way I know to get my question answered.

I have spent all day on this site trying, unsuccessfuly, to figure out how to post a new thread/question. I have failed.

Can anyone explain the process to me?

SABBATH5.9:

Thank you for your response.

"Click on the forum you want to post to". I hear you, but how?

I have been registered on this site for several years. My experience has always been that when I pull up the site, I see a menu bar that includes HOME/FORUMS/FTE LIVE/MODELS/etc.

I always click on FORUMS. This provides a sub-menu that includes LIST/NEW POSTS/REGISTER/SEARCH/etc.

I always click on SEARCH which takes me to a page labeled SEARCH FORUMS. At this time, I have no idea how to get to this site's SITE NAVIGATION page. If you put a gun to my head, right now, I could not pull up that page.

Today, between the time that I posted my question on this thread, and your response, I (quite by accident) pulled up the SITE NAVIGATION page. I saw, on the right hand side (as I view it) of the page, in bold blue, "POST A TOPIC" for the various categories. I was able to post a new thread. Again, if you put a gun to my head, I could not be certain of getting back to the SITE NAVIGATION page.

NOTE TO SITE ADMINISTRATORS: Place the item "POST A TOPIC" on the home page menu that will take a visitor to the SITE NAVIGATION page.

Cheers......GREENETRUCK

If you scroll to the top of the page you are viewing right now, just above the border line for the first post on the left side is a blue balloon that says " post reply". If you go back to the first page in the forum you want to post in this balloon will say "new thread" click on that and a dialog box opens for your posting pleasure .

All this assumes you are on the full version of the site and not the mobile version.

How does one get to "the first page in the forum you want to post in"? Where on any of these pages is there a menu item that says "forum you want to post in"?

If you will read my reply to Sabbath5.9's first reply to me, you will see that I do not know how to get to the SITE NAVIGATION page. This is the only place on this site that I know of which allows access to the list of forums.

My silly bad.

At the top of this site's home page. Click on the menu item Forums. Click on FORUMS sub-menu item LIST, and I have the SITE NAVIGATION page.

On the right side of every forum category, in bold blue, is POST A TOPIC.

I could not get there using your directions, but I got there.

Thank you for your help

Thank you. I understand. Yours is, yet, another way to be able to post a new thread.

Imagine a first time visitor (as we all were) to this site who wants to post a new thread. Would that visitor know to do a search on Diesel, then that a click on "6.0L Power Stroke Diesel" will take the visitor to the 6.0L forum? And from there a click on the NEW THREAD button will produce results?

NOTE TO SITE ADMINISTRATORS: Put a main menu item on the site HOME PAGE such as POST NEW THREAD that will take the visitor to the LIST OF FORUMS.
