egr relocation

Has any one figured out a way to get around having to keep my egr valve plugged in and just laying in engine valley?

here is where i am at.
1. I deleted my egr (sinister kit)
2. I didnt get any codes without the valve so i didnt plug it back in
3. more research made me realize that even without the getting a egr code i still need the valve plugged in (electronically) for proper fan operation and for my turbo to cycle.
4. I like the look of no egr and dont want to put it back in the intake manifold.
5. I dont like the egr valve just sitting in the valley.

What have you guys done for this?

thanks
Matt

Did you experience any symptoms with out the Egr plugged in? I bought a 2004 with the egr delete and no egr at all. I have read some recomendations that state to plug it back in, but i'll have to purchase one. They are not cheap, i'm trying to decide if I should throw down the money for another one.

the only symptom i have seen (or think i have) is my turbo no cycling at idle, but i am unsure. As for the fan (again from what i have read and tried to understand) you need a special tool which can command fan speeds to see if this is working so i am unsure.

I am in the same boat as you I currently dont have an egr and i dont like the idea of it just laying in the engine valley. So i am hoping to find a way around it or if plugging an egr back in is the only option?

Did your turbo cycle prior to EGR removal?

Yes, but i just bought the truck this winter when it was cold and the truck would high idle and the cycling turbo was very noticable.

In the cold, my 04 will go to high idle and I could then hear the turbo. It wasn't cycling, just spooling up. Cycling you will hear hot or cold. If you have the flash that has it included. Mine does not have that flash.

In the cold i am pretty sure it was cycling (but that was when i had my egr system in place). Now I am pretty sure it does not cycle. I am unaware if the truck has ever been flashed, but it is one of the later 2004 motors

If you do decide to "throw down" the cash for a new one.... this is the cheapest one I could find and it's supposedly the same manufacturer that Motorcraft gets them from. His charting however and numbers etc... are all off base. I ordered one cuz he told me it was compatible with a 2005 6.0 Powerstroke but it was for 2004 and prior (EGR#4279L). I sold it to a fella here where I live and made $10 on it, so no harm - no fowl. Here is the link;

I am not sure I have ever heard the turbo cycle. When I had the bully dog on the truck I could hear the turbo a little with a light throttle. It was hot when I bought the truck so I am not sure how it would react in the cooler temps.
