I have Flow masters on my truck. While I like the tone of them I get the "drone" from them on the freeway. My next set of mufflers will be quieter (crap am I getting old?)
on my 89 bronco, i had a flowmaster and it droned terribly. hated it. i was so happy when i finally smashed it so bad on rocks it wouldn't work anymore. i replaced it with a 3" magna flow straight through round style and it sounded WAY better.
i got a magna flow dual in/out for my 91 van to do a poor man's true dual/cat delete on it. it droned pretty bad, even after i added a pair of louvered glasspacks in front of it. if i were to do it again, i probably would have done it a little different.
thinking back, the best sounding muffler i ever had was a Hooker Aero chamber on my 89 GMC. no drone, nice raspy sound, good throaty rumble even with the giant plugged up cat those trucks came with.
