5.0 seized , new engine options ? Need help
So as of my recent post my buddy and I dropped his new rebuilt 5.0 in his truck after a struggle to get it to run right , the engine had a connecting rod bolt snap and toast the engine , rod was twisted, parts of pistons ripped off, back two cylinder walls had chunks out. I'm assuming it had happened because when he first torqued them down , he did to 40lbs! So I told him no way and then re did it to about 20 , so I think they got weakened , but anyway , now we have to start from scratch , we want to get 300hp out of it, mind you it's a budget build and want to keep SD. Could we run roller parts in it ? Cam and such to get 300 and stay SD ? The trucks exhaust is already set for a 5.0

A budget 300 hp build. Building any engine is never a budget build. Didn't you just find that out?
As for roller cams that is the only way to go. Today's oils are not designed for flat tappet cams. No ZINC to cushion.
But Roller cams are not budget items.
