Shift Indicator Offset
Well, I'm not sure exactly what happened, but after backing out of a parking space and then shifting into drive, and noticed that the orange shift indicator was offset -- literally off to the right side where I couldn't see it. When I put it in park, it's over on the 1. I've got a '92 F-150 with an automatic. Anyone else had any experience dealing with this situation?

if you take off the panel below your steering collum you will see a cable with a loop on it that runs through a little fixture to adjust the shift cable it might have broke or came unscrewed.

Before you try that, look underneath the dash. There are some torx screws that are known to come loose. Once they do the shifter is way off.

Does the lever feel just as tight and works as usual? then it's the little cable, does the lever feel loose but shifts alright? then it's the bolts, does the lever feel hard and some you have to make an effort to reach the gears at the extremes? adjust the shifter cable, if the problem persist then replace it ASAP or you'll break the shifter tube and things will get ugly and expensive.
