For the life of me I cant find any info on this. I'm posting here since all the components are off a 75 truck (installed on a 65). everything. gear. linkage. pitman arm. tie rods. spindles. I beams. for the life of me I can't get the steering to center up (coorect toe in with gear centered). I don't have a lot of experience with these trucks. most of the cars I have worked on have an adjuster for both tie rods. not a single one. so how do you go about setting up one of these linkages when new? should the adjusting collar be centered or do you get one side close then attach the collar? The pitman arm is keyed so I don't have an adjustment there. is something screwy?
The only other thing i can come up with because i'v never been under a 65 truck is . Is the drag link shorter on the 65 than the 75 ? If so then maybe you can use it or maybe use all of the tie rod set up .
I posted to this forum because all of the components were off a dent... anyway. problem solved.
Ye old parts counter knucklehead gave me the wrong tie rod. too long. comparing to old linkage revealed that. all is good now. just fyi all the parts fit perfectly but you have to swap EVERYTHING. pitman, linkage, spindles. same track width just slightly different geometry.

thanks for your help.
Great to hear that , i never knew you bought some new parts, guess i missed it. That's what i would have told you to check first as it's something that happens at parts stores.
