Steering gear
Have a 99 f350 psd 4x4. Would the steering gear cause the steering to react late? When I turn the steering wheel the truck takes a while to react to the turn of the wheel. I constantly have to over compinsate. Brand new drag link installed from the pitman arm to the tie rod.

If there is slop in your steering box, it would seem you were turning the wheel a bit before the wheels reacted.
You can adjust it some, but Im not sure how much you will make up. Are your tie rod ends in good shape?
