Replaced the ac clutch. Shimmed to the .014-.033 specs. When I turn on the ac, the clutch spins on the front of the pulley surface. (Slipping, I assume). I am wondering if I should reduce the gap, or enlarge. I am assuming reduce. Current spacing is .024.
What was the old one doing.. same thing? If you have battery voltage at the comp, backprobing, with it connected then you either have a bad clutch or more likely, the compressor is too hard to turn.
It appears the compressor is going out. Disconnected the field coil so I don't accidently turn it on. Now I'll be looking for a new compressor and all that other stuff to rebuild the system.
