I get an alert to drain the water resivoir. I looked in the manuel as to how to empty it but where is it? Specifically which side, closer to tank, fuel filter? Thanks.

This should help you:

Also, I'd recommend doing this monthly.

That video is good in the fact that is shows lack of maintance and a couple of no-no's.

Only use your hands. That yellow lever is plastic. It should always move freely. If you are draining on a regular basis per the manual...once a month min and maybe more often if poor fuel then it will move freely.

Also changing your fuel filters every 10K to keep things clean is important.

Notice how he only gets a drip? More evidence of clogged fuel filters. It should flow freely. Even if he has a bunch of water it should stream right out.

This guy needs to pull the filters and clean that housing out.

So a good video to show how not to take care of his fuel system.

Just my .02 cents

Yes, I saw it was plastic and did not want to break it off. I did however use a flat head screwdriver, but just to get it started. I used my hands once I got movement.
As for amount...I saw a steady stream but it kept going and going. When it is empty will the stream stop, or does actaul fuel come out?
I got a bit and when I drive it today see if the warning light comes on or not.
If it does, I'll drain more. If it doesn't, I'll start doing it once a month.
Thanks for the advice.

Drain it in a clear bottle so you can look at it after it sits. It will just keep draining and draining.

I just drain about 30 seconds or so. Any water will come out first. If it is kinda bubblely then drain till it is just a stream.

bubbles can be some water.

Next item...when was your last fuel filter change?
