Tune question

Just a quick question. I have an SCTx3 with 3 tunes from Eric at ID. I got them about 3 years ago after an EGR delete. Since moving to the great state of Kalifornia, I had to replace the EGR cooler so as to pass smog. The question is will these tunes work with the EGR cooler now in place or am I looking at a potential problem. Do these tunes just shut the CEL off o do they actually affect the way the EGR valve operates ?

I am not sure about your answer, but I have a couple friends with tunes from him and they said that Innovative has been awesome helping them even after the sale, Im sure if you give him a quick shout he could answer that for you and you know you will be getting the right answer.

I hope to get my tunes from him pretty soon here

Most competent tuners will leave the EGR system active, but re-write all the tables to nothing but zeros.

This effectively shuts off the EGR system performance-wise, but doesn't trip the de-rating code deeper in the system that starts acting up if the valve is unplugged. The PCM is seeing that the EGR system is in place and functioning, but is commanding zero exhaust gas recirculation.

The later flashes (especially for 05-07 trucks) start doing crazy things with engine power and engine cooling fan operation if the EGR system is disabled.

Ahhh yes. The much loved "EPA Limp Mode".

You don't remember Matt @ Spartan having a hell of a time getting reliable mileage numbers out of his EGR-off tunes, back when he was still tuning 6.0's?

We also confirmed around here more recently that without the EGR plugged in, the engine cooling fan doesn't behave properly, effecting both engine cooling and A/C operation.

Sure I remember. I remember Matt making a post that due to the inability to get good MPG numbers with the EGR turned off, he was not going to turn it off unless the customer specified to turn it off.
