Lost power brakes

Lost power brakes
Have a 1995 f350 1ton was pulling a load and when we got to the job and backed up we lost our power brakes then when we left it came back but on the way home it happened two more times but came back again until we got home then it happened again and didn't come back I didn't try it again after I shut it off! I'm assuming it is the booster but does anyone have any idea of how to test it! And what would it take to fix it? Thanks
