2001 F-350 SD Headlight Conversion

OK, So I have a 350 SD work truck it was a Michigan salt truck so it has halogen I believe for the lights and I'm wanting to convert to the more attractive aero style lights I don't mind the 99-04 ones but I would prefer to do the 05-up style conversion can i remove the headlight bezel and will they bolt right up I know i will obviously need to find some sort of wire harness or pigtails and bulbs for them when I get the light but can anyone point me in the correct direction for how to do this and where to get the wiring set up?

Thank you in advance.

if you do the 05 up swap you'll need to cut the support a little, there are conversion kits here that have everything you need

Get the ones with the cables, but like SuperDutyScaler said you will have to trim behind the Headlights on your 01 header panel which these should come with a cut out stencel, I just went through this on my 2000 and am converting to 2007.But I changed the Header panel so no cutting and mainley for the 07 grill and bumper.

I have done both, first I cut the header panel for the 07 lights then I had a little fender bender so I replaced the bumper and grill with 07 parts. Cutting the header panel is nerve racking but not difficult. If you do go that route just keep in mind it is only about $100 from the dealer so that takes a little pressure off. I haven't seen the front of a WT in a long time so I can't remember if they already have the correct corner and marker lights to slap in a composite light from 99 to 04 so that may be a decideing factor to use the 06/07 lights with the built in turnsignals/cornet lighrts.

Is there any metal left on the body? I know what my 04 looks like and it was never a salt truck

Sorry to go off topic, Riffraff Diesel Performance Parts | Ford 7.3 diesel | 7.3 powerstroke | Ford Powerstroke | 7.3L Powerstroke Parts has really good price on the conversion pigtails to the 05-07 lights.

my cab isn't horrible my doors have some surface rust on them and i have a little on my fenders so that not bad the only real rust i have is my bed which im replacing but that has nothing to do with my headlights so if I take out my headlight bezel for the square headlights and pick up the 05 up conversion kit i can put 07 in with out much trouble besides trimming my header panel than right? I believe I am understanding this correctly

That's correct!! Get the headlights with the cables. I did have to get 8 u-nuts which are the threadded metal clips and the screws but I originally had the square work truck XL headlights. If you wreck your header panel which you won't, I'm in Holly and I'll sell you one for 25 bucks.
