I am now on the hunt (locally) for a '05-'07 Chrome front bumper and filler panel ect to convert my '99
What exactly do I need from the grille down to do this?
I know I need the bumper itself, the filler panel (as I call it) and the lower facia......and I really want the factory fog lights.....gonna try & swap my headlight switch and run wires to operate them (mine came w/o lights)
Is the wireing for the fog lights a stand alone harness I can add?
I AM NOT planning on swapping my header panel so is there going to be something to fasten the bottom of the grille to?
I did the same swap. There isn't anything to attach the grille to on the bottom. I haven't had any issues not having it fastened to anything. I also had to cut a little off the bottom of the grille to make it fit. As far as the fog lights I hear the wiring is already ran on our trucks. I also have a '99 but I'm waiting for a little better weather to look. Keep us posted on what you find out. I know my headlight switch pulls out like it has the fog light option just no markings. Keep us posted!
I think your going to need all the bumper brackets as well. When I did mine I bought a bumper, grill and filler panel from a local wrecking yard for around 400 with all the brackets still on bumper. Head Lights where eBay for around 200 and I went with a new header panel from ford close to $100.
Mine was a repair (oops) so the header panel was a must but for the price I would recommend it rather that cutting up the original. Nothing wrong with cutting the original that was the route I went when I installed the 07 lights but 2 months later I wiped out the rest of it so she got the full nose job.
Just because your **** pulls out doesn't mean there's any function to it. There isn't in the early-years Superdutys.
When you get the later years headlight switch panel, you find a different shape and different plugs on the back.
It's going to take some real "doing" to make that all look, and electrically function, as stock.

I expect as much. But according to info from this site the wiring is there and the switch functions. Hopefully I don't need to change switches, we'll see this spring!
For the life of me, I can't imagine you wouldn't like the lights... I guess anything is possible, but if you cut the header, you might have loose headlights should you go back to the original units.
If I cut the header panel and install the lights then deceide I don't like them CAN I switch back w/o problems?
You won't be able to go back once you cut it all out. You cut most everything out from behind the old lights. I am sure you will love the new lights as I can't imagine going back to the old ones after having the newer ones and I have had the '01 originals then to the clear '02 ones and now the '05 ones. I have done the complete swap as well just cutting the old header panel.
I kept my old 99 header panel and cut it to fit the 05 headlights. I used a MKM customs grill that was cut to fit to work with the 99 bumper. I like the chrome....I would NEVER go back to the 99 headlights.....
When I had my '02 lights I did not have Sliverstars in them so I can't compare to that but I have the them in my '05 ones and the light output is great. I am guessing they would be the same if not better but I am not certain on that I guess with no comparison to go off of. If you were not happy you could always switch to HID's or you can get the relay harness for the Sliverstars that make them much brighter. I just went with the cheaper pigtails to make the swap. One other thing in my opinion the '05 ones are much easier to aim but they may be because my '02 ones were a cheap set off ebay and I couldn't get them aimed very well.
