Don't forget the foam bar rod you can get at home depot also. It's a 3/8th inch foam tubing that you slide into the weather stripping that goes around the door. There is a hollow part of the weather striping that you use fish tape and pull it through...it also will block sound coming in.
great job man. Looks like you did it for a decent price too. I'm just about to wrap mine up. I still have to do the roof and build me some speaker baffles for the doors.

I was looking at doing the door seal mod with surgical tubing, but that stuff tends to be expensive. Do you happen know what section of Home Depot it's located in and how much is it by the foot?
I am still at a stand still on this waiting on my new re-covers to come in should be here by Friday. I am working on the new console now modifying it to fit and wiring a power inverter into it so it will be hidden and have some what of a factory look to it. I will get some pic's of it up soon.
Well what turned out to be just a clean up and to lower the noise level turned into a total rebuild. I finished up this evening and the results where awesome!! I took it out on a little drive and my wife was highly impressed!! So it has passed the test! The noise level had to had been cut in half I can clearly hear my kids talk in the back now and the radio is a 100% better. I can't wait to get it out on the next trip for a real test I think doing this is as important as adding a programmer and it looks a ton better!
Stumbled across this thread and read thru it. What would be wrong with simply using carpet padding and gluing it down? That would be extremely inexpensive route to go even if you bought top quality padding.
To those that want to use the peel and seal mentioned from home depot, find a roofer and they may even give you enough to do it or go to a roofing supply store and you can by a roll and triple layer it down and probably do another truck or two for about $100.
