I have been reading up on these Amp research running boards and after about 3 hours of nothing but reading threads I am stuck scratching my head. There is about a 70/30 split about them on these trucks, specifically the 99-03 PSD. I have found a dealer that is selling them pretty cheap and would like to get a set with the lights and the extra extension arm (due to the 8 in lift) but I really am not the good with the electrical and do not want to run into all the problems that I am reading about. I have read in multiple threads that there is a problem that these running boards will drop down when the door opens and they will close when it is shut but after about thirty seconds or so the boards will drop down if the door is open or not. Any imput would be great.
BTW the price that I was quoted was 979.99. If you guys have a better deal somewhere that would be great. Thanks guys for all the help.
I have been using the AMP steps for 3 years now and have had no issues..Mine was professionally installed though, after reading the instructions on the electrical I bailed..no complaints..
I have no personal experience with them, but I have seen several going down the road where the front end is nice and retracted, but the back end on one side is just hanging down.
My sons go up and down when ever they decide to on there own. His is a 2004 and installed at dealer. I believe the switches are two hundred dollars to replace. I'd like to fix his but not even sure where the switches are. Anyway they are nice when they work. I can hardly get in his truck when they don't come down.

I have a friend and his done the same thing...there is a control module under the hood..It ended up being a loose wire there..the module should be on the passenger side fender well..
It lasted 5 years plus before having problems. He had other problems with the 6.0L. I'll have to look on his fender well and see. Be nice if it was just a wire.
These are the kinds of issues that I have been hearing about. The price tag is very appealing though being that everywhere else, they are over 1000 bucks.

Not to derail this thread but have to say Rahhh!!!
