If I'm stopped and turn the wheel for a hard left turn I hear a clunking noise and the check engine light comes on, will be taking in to the dealer on Mon. just wondering if any one else has had this problem.

 

I have experienced this also but without the check engine light. My son who is a mechanic says it it the cam phaser reacting to a low idle RPM. I am curious to hear what the dealer says. I have a 09 Lariat with the 5.4

 

Hey Kansas finally got to the dealer showed the mechanic , he said that's not right, as the check engine light came on then the display showed "service stabilitrac system" so it went into the bay and about 20 minutes later service tech. came in and said that the steering rack was bad (to me it sounds like a stop cushion is missing) they also said that there is a bad sensor that needs to be replaced. I'll know on Tuesday if it's been fixed right.
