Hey guys.

I bought my 99 Expedition EB about a week ago. I added XM radio and I'm about to replace the rear sub. I bought some new bulbs for the headlights and just ordered a billet grill.

What performance mods are most popular?

I'm looking for better MPG and sound. I'd like to get dual exhaust, but don't want the loud flowmasters....something a little more mellow.

Is a Jet Chip worth it? How about the K&N FIPK system?

Any cheap tricks to get my HP I can do?

Thanks,
Mark

I would suggest a full tune up, change the oil, change your fuel filter, add injector cleaner, change the plugs if your up to the task.

Look into an aftermarket air intake(ebay) change the stock exhaust for an aftermarket one, if your not into the rumble flowmaster has a 50 series muffler that is a mellow tone and some say gibson exhausts are mellow toned.

I have no experience with chips myself, some say the work some don't but all have to start using premium gas so you gonna end up spending more at the pump for a few HP if that.

If you want a HP beast you can add NOS or a blower, but thats not rally a cheap trick.

One vote for the Gibson -- I put one on my wife's '03 Expy and she's pleased -- sounds more lke V-8 "should," without significant volume increase. Or, as *she* put it, "Good! It doesn't sound like a p**sy truck anymore!"

I like the Flowmaster 70 series. With the addition of a K&N FIPK, the throttle response difference was incredible! Gas Mileage would be better, but I can't keep the pedal off the floor.

I think I'll look into a Gibson or FM 50 series. I'd like to get the dual exhaust look.....

I'll look into the air intake thing on Ebay.

How about a lift?

Any members have a 4" Rancho lift?? If so, I'd like to see it. It seems all the lifted X's are 7 inches, that's a little too much for me. I already have a lifted Jeep so I really won't be 4 wheeling this investment

Thanks for the replies.
