My truck is a 2011 F250 w/ around 26k miles on it. I have been getting around 2-3 regens per tank. When it is was new I got around 1 regen per tank...with similar driving habits. My wife brought the truck in the the dealer for the normal oil change and mentioned the regen issue. They called her back and told her that the exhuast valves (I'm assuming in the exhuast system) are bad and they are going to replace them. Has anyone had this issue or had the dealer say something simular?
I have tried using different brands of fuel and does not matter. I have been using an additive (motorcraft) since my first tank, tho I put it in every other tank. I figure it is cheap insurance considering how fussy the fuel system is in these trucks.
Is it possible you are paying more attention to the MSG flashing on the screen?
I have an edge insight cts some never miss a regen, I know when it's about to start and when it's complete.

I just go off the mpg meter, when it drops to 9-10 mpg's I know it is in a regen cycle.
I plan on deleting soon so this will no lnger be an issue, but I wanted to let others know what i was seeing and what the dealer found.
I will follow up with results when I get the truck back from the dealer. My wife is going to take it cross country in a few weeks. It will be interesting to see how the regen cycle will be then.
What dealer what this if I may ask. My truck does everything the TSB states and I was getting frequent regens but my dealer made it sound they never hear of this.

Lol, I mentioned the tsb for the harsh shifting trans and my dealer did the same thing, print it off and bring it in.
With talking to my wife......(I'm currently deployed and out of the country), this is what she told me the dealership that after diagnosing the issue they are now replacing the 8 exhaust valves. So I guess this TSB applied to my truck.
Some 2011-2013 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine may exhibit a runs rough/misfire condition only during the exhaust regeneration process. This condition typically occurs on light throttle tip in between 64-113 Km/h (40-70 MPH), and will not set diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). The concern may be intermittent and a knocking noise may be present during the concern.
ACTION:
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

I used to think the That I got a Regen every 400 miles or so. Then I got a Edge insight, I know now when the trucks is going to Regen. I wass so wrong on how often it Regen's. I see a Regen about every 120 to 150. I was missing it.
If I am towing or going on very long trips it does decrease the amount of Regen's. But even when towing I see a Regen every 600 miles.
I would like to know what people see with there Edge insight.
Oh. okay. Deployed - Thank You for your service. What is the name of the dealer. I would like to ask them if it applies to my truck as well.
