Ok, I'm really frustrated. When I google "Fuel Delivery Module" or "Fuel Check Valve" I get a bunch of posts from this forum but no results for actual parts or part numbers, all dead ends about everybody asking the same question, and the same answer of "oh yeah it's the fuel deliver module". What is this part called for real?
Scenario: 1993 ford f150 dual fuel system, the rear tank when selected fills the front tank to the point of overflowing. When front tank is selected, there's no crossflow. I've been told it's my front tank that needs to be fixed.
Sorry if this sound angry, it's just frustrated with having this problem for a year and never being able to find the correct part. I'd fix it if I knew what the part was.

Okay, so Chris, this was a major factory recall on these year trucks, I suggest an easy place to start would be look up recalls, because this is a dangerous problem and I do suggest leaving your front tank empty, I haven't fixed it on my 90' yet, so I can't be of help with part names, but I believe that going to sites telling Ford Recalls would help identify the part name and possibly how to fix it without Ford's help.
i understand it's dangerous but, this is my only means of transport, I'm only using one tank at the moment. It's been said the part that brakes is inside the fuel pump. How do I know which pump to get especially from Rock Auto since they list different pumps for the different tanks. I'm 85% positive it's a 16 gallon tank. What are the dimensions of the front midship tanks?
Do a search on fuel tank resevoir or fuel tank selector valve, it's on the drivers side rail by the front tank, 4 hoses on one side 2 on the other, 2 on one side is supply and return for the motor, the other is supply and return for the tanks.
This selector valve is on the 93 f150's? I do have this device on the frame rail between both tanks where all the fuel lines go through, this is what you're talking about?
Ok that looks different than mine but on the 89 it controls flow from the selected tank and the return from the engine back to the correct tank, basically they both do the same thing. It would be my best guess to fix your problem. It can be removed without removing the tank just label the lines good.
If you have that selector. I believe 93 was the year that they switched to high pressure senders. There is a fuel filter on the rail with this system, 1 in 1 out. Shortbeds got the 16gal tank, longbeds the 19. That doesn't look like the Ford reservoir switching valve, it should have 6 ports, 2 for the engine and 2 for each tank.
In 93 you do not have anything on the frame rail except a fuel filter.
The Ford trucks went to one high pressure pump in each tank in 1990.
The parts name is the Fuel Delivery Module (FDM) but auto parts stores some time just call a fuel pump.
Yes your front FDM is bad.
