"D7..." is 1977. 351C motors ended in 1974.
Note the big wall above the distributor hole.

Note the casting number referenced. Sound familiar?

But, maybe you got lucky. Check the stroke--not easy to do due to plug angle, but try a stiff wire down the plug hole. 3.5" for 351, 4" for 400. Good luck.
How can i for sure tell the difference between a 351c and a 351m? the only numbers i found on the block are on the passenger side below the exhaust ports.
They were dirty and upside down but from what i could tell they are "D71 (possibly a "t" prefix is D7TE)-A2-8 and suffix is A2B
351C installed in 1970/74 Ford/Merc Passenger Cars/Ranchero's only, would not have a D7TE block casting prefix.
351C same engine family as 351M/400. All have 8 valve cover bolts, there is no timing cover per se, just a flat engine cover plate.
The fuel pump bolts to the left side of engine block, its bolt pattern is at 6 & 12 o'clock, the only V8 fuel pumps to have this pattern.
Warranty Plate located on left door face below the latch. Has the VIN, actual W.B., codes for the COLOR/TYPE GVW or MODEL/BODY/TRANS/AXLE and etc stamped on it.
COMPARE the VIN on the Warranty Plate to the VIN on the title/registration to see if they match.
People replaced damaged left doors with used doors. 99.9% of the time, they failed to install the original Warranty Plates on the replaced doors.

4th digit of VIN is engine code. 1977/79 F100/350 & 1978/79 Bronco: H = 351M / S = 400 / LMC's VIN decode info is CRAP!! Use it at your own risk.
