Ok So Im looking to do some restorative work on my 78 F150 this spring/summer. From what I understand the the truck Originally had a 351M in it. The 351 that was a 400 but was basically stroked down to a 351 if that makes any sense. However the motor was I guess replaced with a 351C at some point. its a 4X4 vehicle. the Remanufactured block number in it now is a Y56943 this tag is on the driver side kinda under the exhaust manifolds.
Now I have kinda looked around trying to find some sort of way to look up blocks by the numbers but havent found much. Im not going to lie Im fairly new to ford motors but Its starting to sound like a nightmare. So anyways what I understand a few 351windsor parts will fit a 351C but not many. the 351C is like a inbetween SBF and a BBF. Doesnt really matter to me as long as I figure out what it actually is and thus allowing me to buy some parts for it.
BTW, I would be willing to bet it doesnt have a Cleveland but the much more common and correct for the year 351M which is what you said, a destroked 400.

see thats what im assuming however the guy who i got it from said he is the 3 or 4 owner probably. Said the guy before him was more or less a crackhead and was very set on letting him know that it had a 351M and he had a 351C put in but whatever the case may be id just like to know whats in it lol.
