Headlight Thread

Alright guys haven't seen a post like this, so get in on it if you want.

I've been researching headlight/fog lights for a while now, and have been through many different setups. The reason I'm starting this thread is to get actual pictures, and experience with all headlight setups. Like I said been looking on here and other places, and to the new member I can see how it would be overwhelming.

Pictures need to be posted with setup. Some people go for a certain look, some people go for functionality. So just posting that you use brand A and it works great, really won't cut it I think.

So here's the line up:

1. Year headlight. (or aftermarket if that's the case)
2. Fog light as they apply.
3. Brand and Name of bulb. (If HID, and you don't know brand the color will work)
4. Your input on what you use.

I'm looking to keep this as close to stock as possible. Headlight/fog lights mainly. Will get to confusing with all the extra lighting that can be added to these.

So let the party begin.

03-04 Headlight
All headlights pictured were 9007 bulbs
All fog lights pictured were 9005 bulbs

Both headlights Silverstar

Passenger 5k HID, Fog lights 6k HID, Driver Silverstar

Passenger 5k HID, Driver and Fog 6k HID

All 4 6k HID

Driver Silverstar, Passenger Silverstar zXe

Both Silverstar zXe

All 4 Silverstar zXe

There's a list of what I have been through in the past, most of it in the past 3-4 days.

Just installed the Silverstar zXe, and will see how much light they provide at night time tonight. As for the silverstar they lit up the road great, but I wanted a little whiter light. Never got a chance to try out full 5k HID out only the 6k, and the blue-ish light looked good, but it made driving rough. Back on the normal headlights now due to the fine line of legality around here of HID's

If you have anything to add, post it up.

They may not be the most stylish but I freaking love the fact my 2k has the WT grille and ACTUAL GLASS sealed beam lights that are bright, cheap and won't be a hazed over dim piece of plastic garbage in a couple years.

But that's part of a larger rage I've had against plastic headlights over the years and how cheap and craptastix they are

I just went out there and flipped them on just to see what they look like, yea im liking how bright they are. I should have a chance tomorrow, ill get out and take pics from the drivers seat. Its always dark where I live, no street lights nothing, at a full moon is the brightest it gets. I sit on 2 acres, and flipping them on it lights up my neighbors house like no other.

Ill get some pics of these tomorrow.

In the search bar, I entered ''05 headlight', and this is just one thread of many that came up. Should be enough to get you started:https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...only-swap.html

While I have no experience with other than stock headlights, its a project I've always wanted to tackle. If all goes well Ill be picking up a new truck(2002 F350) this weekend, and that'd be good excuse to dive into lights. I liked the silverstar zXE the best. I know its not what you were hoping for, but I for one really appreciate you putting up what you've tried!

I can't speak to bulbs, but I can tell you that putting in a quality aftermarket headlight harness improves your lighting dramatically. I found this out by prepping for a higher output bulb setup in my truck. After replacing the harness, I didn't even bother buying new bulbs.

I'm leaning this way. It was certainly worth it to upgrade to the clear '02 headlight housings from the fluted '99-'01 design. I think the next best step is a harness upgrade.

Summit Racing has them OR you could build your own.
