DOOR SEAL MOD
Thought I would share my experience with the door seal mod. Those not familiar is to thread 3/8" surgical tubing into the existing seal for a plumper seal. This works great and there is a post video for this. I used an 1/8" fiberglass fish rod that worked better than a fish steel but my 2000 seals had 3 solid rubber cores about 8" long inserted on the curves. These were a bitch to get out but with the a few choice cuss words I was able the squish them out and get the fish rod in and the tubing pulled through. My drivers side seal was shot so I ordered one from rockauto manufactured by fairchild, not quite as good as factory but a third the cost. Dont make the mistake I did and order for f250 supercab if you have a superduty it came in 3 feet short, I did not remember that Ford built a non superduty f250 glorified f150. The fairchild does not have the solid rubber core pieces and the surgical tube slipped right in. This makes quite a big difference in how solid the doors close and reduces road and wind noise.
