I have a 2009 4.6L v8 f-150 and i want something loud ive got 2 plans. I really wanna run dual exhaust with 2 magnaflow high flow cats and no mufflers and hide the pipes under the truck pointing down at a 45° or the same but with cherrybomb glasspacks 12". Is it legal and will i pass inspection in north carolina without mufflers
You've already started a thread on this topic once. And you still seem to have a defective keyboard. One has to wonder how you can go find the degree symbol, but can't use the SHIFT or apostrophe appropriately...
not sure where you get your vehicle inspected at, but when I moved to NC, my grand prix's mufflers were both rusted out and leaking so I a Dynomax system installed to the tune of roughly $300. I then had it inspected and the guy didn't even put it up on a lift or inspect the exhaust system at all. You may be able to get away with it, you may not. A chance you will have to take to find out i guess.
Dont take my word for it, but generally straight pipes (no muffler) setups result in a higher, raspy sound. You will definately have popping and backfiring if that's what you are looking for.
Chambered mufflers create the deeper more bassy sound. I personally only like the straight pipe sound on 12V Cummins diesels & 7.3 Powerstrokes. Gas engines end up sounding horrible without some type if muffler.
