I think you're more correct than the shop is telling me (or I hope so at least!). I saw on WoodNThing's post a reference to the throttle positioning sensor sharing the 5V reference. When I first tried to start it last night (turning the key only as usual), it fired up and died just as quick. I thought next I would see if I could hit the pedal as soon as it fired to bring the RPMs up and get it started. Well, it fired right up and that's when it hung at 1K on the tach no matter how far I pushed the pedal. Only after I let off would it rev higher. So, I'm curious if there could be an issue with it. It started fine after that - just ran rough. And it only ran rough after warming up. So, I'm still not sure on the TPS. I'm going to see if it acts the same tonight, though.
I guess I have to admit, now, that the mechanic I've been using isn't as good as I thought he might be. Walking up my driveway after work today, I noticed a spot under my truck about 18" around right under the tranny. Didn't look like oil or tranny fluid, so I set out to find out what it was. I fired the truck up and looked around. What I found was the fuel was seeping out at the filter cap. I popped the cap off and the gasket was upside-down, Bevel up is correct, right? I flipped it over and it still leaks - not as bad, but still leaking and they let me drive away. But the shop had to have known is was leaking. I was just telling my wife that the engine smelled strong since we got it back.
Anyway, I guess that goes on the shopping list, too. I wouldn't think it has anything to do with my problem unless it was leaking before I took it to the shop. I don't recall it leaking at all, but who knows. One more thing for Saturday...
If the cap is leaking you will know, it will geyser. Its also possible that when working on the truck he manhandled the fuel lines, this can damage the little gasket things at either end. Find the leak and see where its coming from.
I have a plethora of fuel leak videos. You should enjoy that

It wasn't spraying that I saw. At the cap, it was just seeping so that my finger was pretty wet when I wiped it. I'll have to check the rest of it out tomorrow. I'll be sure to check out the videos. It did start, but still rough.
I suggest you just order some. Play around with trying to make your OEM beveled o-ring work until you get them. However, once you use them you will never go back.
A/Ox4's got some great vids and posts in the thread too.
BTW, it is odd that it wasn't spraying. Mine was spraying, not a mist but a single very fine spider web stream, probably two feet.
For giggles, while you have your fuel lid off take the filter out, and remove the fuel, have your wife turn the key on so the pump runs but not the ignition while you count how long it takes to fill the fuel bowl. 15 seconds for mine.
(Do not use a wet dry vac to remove the fuel. A buddy of mine blew one up.)
Like Butta'!!! Had my mechanic friend, Don, come over this morning with his scanner to run some tests on the truck. We ended up swapping out my ICP with his and things went back to normal! The shop was using after market parts and that was the issue. Grabbed a new one from the dealer and it purrs like a cat. So, there is such a thing as crap out of the box. My pigtail is in and I'll be swapping it today. Then, it's on to the wife's oil change while I'm in stride.
I'm trying to talk my buddy into joining this forum. He's a little old school, but he's starting to crack! I'll have him here soon.
I think I've learned my lesson, Trey & Matt. Not sure how much more $$$ I would have dumped into it just thinking that it couldn't be the ICP because it was just replaced! This forum helps me a LOT, but I have to remember to get Don over here, too. Damn good mechanic. Our schedules just don't always mesh. Pigtail's replaced and it runs like a champ! I'll post a video of what it sounds like now.
