I just bought a new fuel pump and received a new harness with it.
2 hour trip home I tore into my 6.0l and installed the pump.
Opened up the box of the new harness and knew instantly I was in trouble.
It looks like a harness extension.
The one end looks like it will work but the other is a flat style connector and the fuel pump connector is round style.
Part number: 8c3z-9f759-AA
Can someone give me some info on this
Or did my parts man fudge it up.
The new harness replaces the old harness near the fuel pump.
Josh
Obviously I have the wrong harness then.
The harness I have has one oval 4 pin and one rectangle 4 pin.
The new pump has 2 2 pin connectors.
And the trucks body harness is a circle 8 pin connector.
(Only 6 pins).
The harness I have is 8c3z-9f759-AA
I seen a 6c3z-9f759-A that's what most people used.
Looks like the parts man is blind.
Packaging reference (cross dock)
I'm guessing its ok to use the original harness as long as I seal the old heater connector pigtail.

That'll work just zip tie the heater connector out of the way.
Least of my worries. Fuel pressure is good but drops at 2750. So I think I have a cracked head. Smokes black on throttle and white when it returns to idle.
I noticed my oil leak is in fact a slow coolant leak.
So I think the drivers side head is fubar'd.
Well if your NOT Worried about Blowing a Fuse and Being Stranded

You may have a Better chance winning the Lotto then a Bad Head that developes a External Coolant leak Not Common
SOunds like Bad injectors from Low Fuel Pressure
The Colant leak is probably the Small egr cooler hose

Haha. I won't drive the truck any where till its fixed then I will worry bout it. But I will address it.
Is it possible for a injector to just dump fuel.
The truck will stumble bad if you rev it up to 2500rpm and let right off. I then shut it of and couldn't get it started again.
It was like it flooded bad.
Cranked on it 4 times for 5 seconds then it fired up.
I was hoping I wouldn't have to open it up but I am out of options
Least of my worries also come to think about it - LOL
I agree Benny - sounds more like an injector(s) issue due to inadequate fuel supply/pressure, which can (or did) lead to hydrolocking and more. Those issues are a lot more critical than a thread on a harness.
