I thought about a stack on my crewcab long bed 2wd but I just turned 47 and realized I'm not a youngster any more. I'm glad I found out about that 4" downpipe problem. I'm just going to run one of the 3.5 downpipe to 4" no muffler "dual" exhaust kits then put on a pair of 5" black straight cut tips. I guess I'll have to get a pipe made to do away with the cat too. I've found kits for $350 with free shipping in the regular aluminized pipe. Wish I could find all black pipes.
Personally I like the look of stacks, at least on the right truck and the right type of stack. Like others have said some trucks look awesome with them and others look stupid. I prefer dual over a single one, but still think that a single stack can look good on the right truck. And I'm not really a fan of bullhauler ones, Aussies look ok, I like the turnout ones and the mitre cut ones are a good one that will probably look good on any truck, but I don't really like anything bigger than 6in ones, though. I say if its your truck and you think it will look good then go for it. As long as you like it, who cares what others think, as long as its not too outrageous..
Here's what my Dad has on his 2006 F550 dump bed. I love the look of them, but think that they could a little bigger, but still looks great. They are 4x60 inch dual turnouts with heat shields, up the side of the cab. I know its not exactly what you're looking for, or something that you could necessarily do on your truck, but I'm just trying to give you some ideas.
It would be substantially cheaper to simply buy a 2nd SuperDuty. One for work, one for play.
Yes, I know this the hard way.

BUT if he got his CDL and the Kenworth or a Peterbilt he could make
money and have the stacks.
The stacks on that photo of 2006 F550 dump bed look good. But they also
have function and are not there as fluff.
I see some guy with stacks rolling coal and causing the EPA to look at all
of up with the 100X microscope and screw with things.
One thing that I could never do.
Thinking of the loss of bed space.
If you really want stacks go buy a Kenworth or a Peterbilt

Yes, if bed space is important for you then I would avoid stacks. I rarely use the bed of my truck, throw some things in from time to time, firewood, and my four wheeler which is large (Sportsman Touring) but will still fit with the stacks and can close the tailgate.
Hey, those look ok in my opinion, Michael. See on those I think they should be taller, with the angle at the top of the cab, so you can actually see them. They look good from the back of the truck, but you can't really see them from the front. I feel that if you are going to do stacks at least make them so that people can see them, instead of like hiding them behind the cab. Not ridiculously tall, but just enough to be able to see them, like on my Dad's truck or maybe a little shorter. Still looks pretty good though.
