Carb question

Does anybody know a great progressive setup?
I currently have the stock electronic feedback carb, which just sucks. I'm interested in a progressive two barrel that way I can keep the great gas mileage while getting a good boost in power.
I know ill have to do the dUraspark conversion and the heated intake, all that is on my list headers have been ordered.
I'm looking into the weber 38-38. Anybody have and feedback on it?
I'm also looking at the new cherry bomb reflex I believe it is. It's a dual into single with a crossover in the chamber.
Also I wouldn't mind if y'all have it readily available, a desmog guide since this lovely truck still has all the stock features except a tach >

Weber 38 is not progressive, but the 32/36 is. I look forward to following your project! Please keep us informed.

Back in the days of playing with imports, I ran that carb...to be quite honest, IMHO, its a nice carb but it really doesn't produce any real performance, drivability, etc., better than any other carb. IMHO I really liked the Holley "Bug Spray" carb (300 cfm)....it is very similar to the Stromberg carbs, very easy to tune & rebuild if necessary....the base plate removes easily allowing fabrication of a different plate to provide for a direct bolt-on....over at the HAMB, it seems there are others who have had the same thoughts & at least one tried with good results...and seem to share my same opinion....

Anyone know much about the Holley "Bugspray" carbs? - THE H.A.M.B.

Okay, I just started looking into carbs.
I also just saw to do headers I'd have to heat my stock intake manifold? I got that from the straight 6 forum on here. Is that correct?
If so I might just keep it all stock and do a really good tune up and wire replacement since all the smog is still good working condition
