I had my new magnaflow cat and muffler installed Friday and what a difference, I guess I was not expecting such a performance boost. Stock Y pipe is pre restricted but I would like to know if anyone has changed to the SPD y pipe from a non restricted factory y and found any performance change?
I bought the tuner and y pipe. Had the y pipe installed before I hooked up tuner just to see if there was a performance gain. Yes there is. It is a lil louder in the cab but you get used to it.
Looking for someone who changed the y pipe that had the pre 2001 non restricted factory y pipe. My factory y does not neck down to 1.5" and am not sure it's worth tossing money to a new y

How much was your Magnaflow system??
I'm also curious about the SPD, as mine is a 1999 V-10 and I don't think its necked down either.
14 years later and no rust on the exhaust system besides the headers. I'd think it'd be an easy swap.
I found some really good promotion deals on Amazon so I spent 240 on the cat and 85 on the muffler. Not really loud but has a nice tone good seat of the pants jump, I am running my first tank of gas to see if I get any improvement but I doubt I will on this one as I am sticking my foot into it for the fun. Let me know if your interested in the specifics on the components I will post the part #'s. Are you still hunting the tick
Had the stomach flu recently, so mainly thinking about it. Plus been working on the Door Lock Actuators.. As all 4 are bad, front doors are intermittent.
I was wondering if the tick could be a coil or something. idk..
One question for ya, my V10 really never wants to go above 4K RPM. I don't know if this is a V10 thing cause my dads 5.0 Coyote will rap out all 7K if it wants.
Your V10 has more miles than mine by 30K so I thought I'd ask.
Something is definitely up with my F-250, but I just can't put my finger on it..
At least my door locks will work again soon, both fronts replaced. Rear actuators on order.
If you're still looking for the ticking noise, better check your plugs. Mine had what I thought was an exhaust leak kinda tick and I couldn't find it. Turned out to be a loose plug, which popped out after about 6 months of listening to it.
I've checked 9 of 10 plugs, all good. On 2-3 coils. The boots were stuck to the plug. Even though gobs of dielectric grease was used.
I need to pull the #5 plug, but its a pain in the A$5 because of the A/C unit. I've had a plug blow on this engine before, no damage to the threads! Just screwed it back in.
