Adding a keypad?

How different is the wiring in a door with a keypad vs. one without? My explorer is a 2002. w/o keypad. My daughter damaged the door and I can get one with a keypad but cannot find one without. Can the keypad be added to my system, or disconnected and used without?

Dan, i didnt understand your question on the F150 page. If your asking if you have to use the key pad, the answer is no. Get the door. If the wires are there you might be able to program. If not, it should not be a problem to just let the pad set on the door. It will not stop you from using the key or FOB.

Thanks, Steve. That is what I thought. From your F150 post, I was hoping the pad on the explorer was wireless as well.

The "Dealer Installed Keypad Option" is a wireless keypad.
