I just bought an '02 eddie bauer explorer with a key pad on the door. The vehicle did not have original manual. In order to program the key pad I must enter the code which I don't have. The manual says the code is taped to the "computer module". Without tearing the car apart , where is this module?
On my 2000, its located inside over the driver side wheel well. Their is plastic panal that can be removed. Then looking inside the door to the front of the vehical you can see my modual. The number was printed on the side of this modual. You may need a mirror to look up their and read it. Yours may be the same?? Iduno, hope this works.
the 2002 model explorer is a new body style. The computer module is not located on the wheel well as in the older body style. The only way to retreive the code is at the dealer with a computer hook up. The manual is incorrect according to a ford technician. Thanx for trying to help.
