I had to take the 13-56 tcase out and put in a 13-45 (long story) but the linkage must be wrong because when the lever is in 2wd, the tcase is actually in 4Lo, so I had to disconnect the linkage and push the tcase lever into 2wd so I could drive it to work.
What is the length/ford part number for the linkage that I need. I have two linkage arms(see pic)
the longer one is 10.5 inches (ford part # F2TA-FB and has E4OD stamped below that)the shorter one is 6.5inches (I think the Ford part #E8TA 3A with ZF-HD stamped below it).
I know E4OD is an auto tranny right? and obviously the ZF is my tranny. The shorter one is the one that was in it with the 13-56 t-case, the longer one seems way to long holding it up in there. (It came with the other 13-45 tcase)
DO I need to change anything else with the linkage that bolts to the tranny? I gotta get another one from the JY anyway. the shifter snapped both the bolts (8MM?) that hold it to the part bolted to the tranny.
When I replaced the transfer case on my dad's 95 F350 PSD, I had the same problem. I just cut the link and welded it back together at the right length to make it work.
