After cycling the plugs 3 times, all my truck will do is billow out white smoke and not pop off. It s 30° this morning so it should start. Opinions, injectors gone bad, glow plug problem, or??
test the gpr for starts, either using a multimeter and test for power on both posts when you turn the key on, you could also try and jump the two posts with a screw driver to power the glow plugs and see if it starts any better, if the gpr tests out good, no change when jumping terminals, measure resistance using a multimeter on the outer most pins on each connector on the valve cover gaskets to ground, there should be resistance but not much like 2 or 3 ohms if i remember right, if its really high or even an open circuit you have ether a dead glow plug on the wire or a bad uvch. also check for burnt pins on the engine harness going to the valve cover gaskets
Just changed the relay and got it started. Lets hope that was the fix. New problem, now my programmer isn't reading the boost so could I have shorted out something while changing the relay? I did notice that the battery light was on for a brief time. But it sounds like the turbo is spooling up.
If you ever have to change the GPR again, unhook the pos and neg from both batteries so there is no chance of shorting anything. One of the big posts on the GPR has battery voltage on it at all times.
