Major Repair Help Needed!

alright so my father in law buys a 2002 f250 7.3l (of course) from an auction in arizona to fix up since its the combo he has been searching for. crew cab short bed. we cant get this thing started so i start diagnosing.....check all the connections and wiring for the usual chaffes. we found some blown fuses and replaced all of those and filled the empty slots in the fuse box (missing fuses). the 2 main problems i am having is the relay for the idm is clicking like crazy...switched out relays and they all do it.....what in the world would make the idm relay go ape s*!t? there is an idm in it i already checked......second....power to the fuel pump...turn the key and power comes on for a second then go right back off.....relay maybe? which one should i check? thanks for any help....

Tried jump starting it yet? Clicking relays are usually a sign of poor voltage. Check battery cable and grounds too.

Drain some fuel into a clear bottle and look at it...Last one i bought at auction had bad fuel. I used the fuel pump and the drain off the fuel bowl to fill it.

Sounds to me a lot like a voltage issue. Are the batteries known good ones?

Get one of those plug-in digital voltmeters from Wallyworld and plug it in the cig- lighter socket and watch the voltage while cranking, if it drops below 10 or so the batteries need replaced.

I agree, voltage first, then go from there.
