Fuel Return Circuit

I got a tune up kit from DCP to replace return fuel hoses, o rings and caps. The plastic caps they have sent have 3 90* caps with the rest being straight through. Looking on my 87 6.9 the caps are all straight and it also looks like the return line to the tank has been blocked off. Does anyone have a clear pic of the injecter return lines with the air cleaner off it would be a great help.
I'm also guessing the return line being blocked off isnt a good thing, but I drove it across Austtralia like this without knowing.

Cheers

6.9 is a little different than the 7.3, at least the earlier ones, but the updated version is better. No return line to FF head either.

Hope this helps. Ignore the GP wiring, the PO was a butcher.
Engine is an '87 6.9:

Sorry about not getting the pic loaded up. i totally forgot about it lol

This the set up for a N/A 7.3L. the only difference in this pic and the trucks i have seen in person is the line running from the top of the IP to cyl 1 goes from the IP to cyl 2. a hose then goes from cyl 1 and to the fuel filter head.

Thats a nice diagram 94IDITurbo7.3 , should help heaps. the only thing I cant see is where the return comes off and where it goes.(if that makes sence)

you mean going back to the FSV?

if so then you see that junction block near cyl 8? there will be another hose that connects to that(so there will be three hoses total connected to that) and that goes down the back of the engine and then along the inside of the frame rail back to the FSV.

the return line needs to go to the fuel tank selector valve,,on the fram rail so that the fuel returns to the corect tank,,It should be there un less the PO removed it all.. or you have a single tank on your truck...
