I have a 1954 f-100 column and I baught a 12 volt wire harness with factory turn switch that goes into column hub... But which way does it go?? Any pics or advice will help
Did you get the whole switch assembly, or just the switch itself?
The assembly looks like this.
You need the switch assembly shown above and the lever. If you have these, pull the steering wheel and orient the assembly so the lever comes out like the picture raytasch provided.
Take the steering wheel off. The sheet metal part at the top of the column should look like this:
Hold your switch so you are looking at it from this direction:
Feed the wires down through the lower of the two larger holes on the left side of the sheet metal part. The post the lever attaches to goes through the upper of the two large holes. The switch is held on by three screws. These three screws go from the back side of the sheet metal part up into the switch. It should make sense when you have the parts in your hands and the wheel is off.
