turn signal problems
for awhile now my turn signal has been messed up. when you put it the left it would stay on and not turn off. when you put it to the right you would have to hold it to keep it on. i just took the steering wheel off tonight and a little peice of plastic broke off (i believe it was the part that contacts the cancel cam) this peice was what was keeping the the switch from engaging when turning right. i will atleast have to replace the switch and maybe the cancel cam. im sure i could eventually figure it out but i would probably screw somthing up in the process. any advice would be great thanks in advance.

If it is a fixed column and you have the steering wheel off you may have most of the work done - look for screws holding switch to bowl of column. Remove the shroud if fixed column. Find the connector for the switch at bottom of column - you will probably have to loosen column from dash enough to feed the wiring harness up thru the column. Unscrew turn signal lever from switch. Needless to say disconnect battery to prevent unauthorized welding. If the column is tilt remove the connector from the switch harness to enable the wiring harness to get thru upper column Keep track of wires book shows a wire terminal tool to remove wires from connector - tool releases wire lug internal tab from connector.
