After the tack weld the lever was fixed but the gear most likely lay in the bottom of the transmission. 2nd gear gave out about 50 miles from home and we inched her home in 3rd. I could of tried addressing the issue there at the awesome Sutter Farm, but I wanted to enjoy the day with you fine folks and let the issues catch up with me later. That being said, for a 60 year old transmission, I am blessed. Tomorrow I will remove the driver door, pull the transmission and plan for a fall trip. Thanks.
Why do you have to remove the drivers door to pull the tranny, I'm confused.

Okay Shane, here's the line up. Starting from the left, it's Andrew (52 Ford F1), Bob (bobj49F2), Rob (Rojak), Garry (Homade), Chris (Chris56F6), Dave (DRSmith), Larry (larryb346), Lance (______), and me. Don't find a record of Lance's user name, and don't know who the youngster belongs to. Stu

Great way of putting it! When I got home tonight my father was at my house. The first thing he did was walk right over and ask how the door got crunched. I explained that the transmission needed work and after fixing it I was backing up and left the door open. He just hung his head and walked away.... dad was not proud. lol He forgets about the time when he let his Packard take out a chicken coop because the parking brake wasn't set.

DOC:

NOTE I wasn't in the photo shown above because I was busy ripping up Rob's garage door with my driver door. -O-<

Sounds like your dad and my dad have a lot in common.

Hate to hear about your door and tranny. It sounds like the bad luck you had in getting to my place last fall continued. But I'm glad you made it back home, and you'll have it fixed in no time.

That little guy is a Galyean, not a Hogan. I won't mention his first name.
But Dad's Name is Jeff..he goes by "graygt07" here. He isn't real active on the forum, because he actually works on his projects!
And no...it is not this Jeff...my youngest is 15...two girls...both 15...stepsister's not twins...they never "debate"
I found out one really likes John Deere!!
