I'm wondering how bad I need to invest in one. I've seen them @ $150 and was wondering what everyone is running and how much I need to save to get one.
The PO told me that the pump is turned up 1.5 flats. I cant confirm this.
The truck only smokes the slightest bit on heavy accel going up a hill, little bit of gray smoke during cold start/warm up.
I'm worried about EGTs but from what I read it doesn't sound like I got a whole bunch of fuel getting dumped in. What do you think?
I'm running glowshift, was about 100 bucks. Seams OK for my use, not dd and usually trips are less then 50 miles. If I was heavy hauling or doing extended drives regularly I'd prob invest in a better one. But I'm happy with it
holy crap! i knew my IP was junk but didn't know it was that bad. i only hit 800 if i am in O/D lugging the **** outa it. Damn! can't wait till i get my new IP!!!!
to keep my post on track LOL, i have a glowshift pyro. i would get isspro if i had it to do again. nothing really wrong with my glowshift but the quality is not nearly that of isspro.
Isspro, I got it lightly used off ebay. But its worth buying new, I just happened upon the deal. I want to say Isspro makes a lot of pyros for the big trucks...
Depends on who talk to, but I think Glowshift is has an extra 'f' in their name...
Isspro here too, Watch out for the "Less priced" versions they dont come with the "other" parts.....I dont know whats up with mine it can easily peg 1000* IP @7psi been turned down 2 flats and it still gets hot....Dont know how much these turbo pumps push but its still got alot of fuel.
Mine hits 1000* wot from dead stop to 5th up a steep hill empty. 400* cruising. I'm pushing 80ccs of fuel and 10psi of boost. Not a whole lot of difference loaded with 2 rank of green firewood.

im only 300 egt running 45 mph when empty (8k lbs.)
the 800 is "peak" loaded (13-18k gross) wot uphill.
Keep in mind the probe location makes a big difference in readings. Temps in the manifold will be hotter than those in the Banks location (near the turbo).
Well I was considering the hypermax combo. I do like the 2 in one and it would go with the hypermax parts already in the truck lol. But Im not sold on the price tag either.
Not a bad looking gauge, but considering most turbos for our trucks wouldn't use HALF that boost range, I'd say it's overkill.
I use a Autometer Sport-Comp (digital) EGT gauge, but it's not working right. I tried to get cute and make it work with the pyro in the stock Banks location, so now I have to order a whole new wiring harness, tap the manifold, and do it right like I should have done in the first place.

Im thinking its a decent price, two gauges in one. Secondly, do you ever overheat your engine? I hope not, so why then does the temp go to 260? The 30lb boost guage wont hurt anything, beyond that good luck finding one < 30lb thats not a POS vac. / boost.
