The PO had put on a cap with no rating stamped on it. I ran the truck for a couple hours, by the end of that the top tank looked like a balloon.
The deal with recovery caps is they are apparently constructed differently, so they don't relieve a vacuum by opening to the atmosphere (when the radiator cools down). Instead they suck back the water from the jug. But since our trucks are 4 psi, and no 4 psi systems had recovery, I haven't found any caps that are both 4 psi and recovery type. If someone has, please post a number. I found a lot of corrosion during my rebuild and I have to believe having air in the system doesn't help.
