You must turn up the IP. Don't listen to everyone else. You will probably see negative post from a question like this. But you do that you want its your truck. But a smokey truck is a hot one. You really need a pryo or you risk hurting your engine

lol there is no risk, it's a definite melt down at "black as night" setting.

instead of wasting fuel why not make power?

First, go get a new or rebuilt pair of heads, eight new pistons, and a full gasket set. Then, turn up the injection pump until parts fly. Repeat as budget allows.

Hey guys, maybe he just doesn't understand. "Black as night" smoke will lead to very high exhaust gas temps(egts). Which leads to melting aluminum, as in pistons. Especially if you work the engine.

i think you and i are on the same page with ^^^, that being the garbage bag doesn't go over the air filter? i repped him......

guys, he doesn't need a pyro. i say let him burn his engine down. live and learn right?

OP, i hope to god for your sake you are trolling................................if you really want to roll coal black as night, then sell your idi, go by a 12V cummins, crank the chit out of the fuel screws and you will have your black coal, while you at it you might as well put a 6 inch straight pipe on there with an 8 inch tip or do some sweet 12" stacks.

Forget rolling coal, just cut off the exhaust at the manifolds so it is obnoxiously loud put in a confederate flag headliner, put on your Daisy Duke shorts, pack a wad of chew in your cheek for some cowboy pinstripes, and send the extra money you seem to have to waste, to me! PM me for my address!

Ok... well there's a lot of negativity in this.. I was serious, I have pyro, boost, and water temp gauges. I'm new to the IDI motors, and have seen my fair share of duramax , powerstroke, and cummins blow black, and in my opinion i think its sweet. I know that the black is unburnt fuel, commercial rigs blow black all day and the biggest motor ive ever seen, a first gen cummins on a dyno making 1400hp at the wheels boostin 135psi blew such thick smoke they had to do it outside. I guess im just an idiot for thinking i could manage this? sorry to make everyone mad. I was just curious...?
